Ian Sloan

Ian Sloan - Owner/Rigger

Ian was born in Annapolis, Maryland and graduated from Baltimore School for the Arts. He grew up sailing & began working on boats at a young age, in boatyards and rigging shops in Annapolis.  In 2000 Ian moved to the Northwest and earned a BA from Evergreen State College. After graduating, boats drew him back & he worked as a rigger in a local boatyard until he started working for himself in 2007.  In 2011 Ian and Joy Sloan opened a shop & Counter Current Marine became Anacortes Rigging and Yacht Services. In 2016 Anacortes Rigging and Yacht Services downsized, in order to be more versatile and provide even better, more personal customer service, with a focus on rope and wire rigging.
